Get to know Anubis

Get to know the god Anubis.
Anubis is the Greek name for this god.
His kemetic name is, Yinepu.

Appearance: Anubis has the head of a jackal, and the body of a man.

Parents: some believe that his parents are Isis and Osiris. Others, believe it was Nephthys, and Osiris. I believe that it was Nephthys and Osiris.

Spouse: his consort, is Anput. Same Image as her husband, only female. I personally see her as just a woman.

children: Kebauet, the Goddess of cold water. And Kebechet, Goddess of purifying the organs.

He is the god of: embalming, the dead, guarder of the tombs, he weighs the hearts of dead souls, in the hall of two truths. He also watches over orphans, and travelers.

Seafood. Mainly shellfish, like lobster, and crab.

Whenever I find an old key, or get a new one, I always set it at the base of his statue. Anubis loves keys (I hear). He also likes pottery. And I so happen to make pottery. So I tend to bless the pots in his name.

Blues, black, gold, and greens.

Prayers for opportunities. Prayers against evil spirits.
Prayers for patience and kindness.

He loves the smell of cedar, pine, and myrrh.

Anubis became associated with the dead, mostly because they were seen pocking around cemeteries.
